Random, mindless, facts about me...
1. We do not have cable or satelite tv. We have two tube tvs with rabbit ears...I'm not kidding. We get 5 channels and yes we have to manipulate the ears to get the best reception;) When we have visitors...I'll place large balls of wadded up tin foil on the ends as a joke...that's our kind of humor;)
2. I was adopted and a few years past I had hired a PI to locate my birthmother.
3. I unfortunately still know lyrics to the WHAM! song Enjoy what you do...and just to poison your mind... Wham...Bam...I am a man...job or no job...you can't tell me that I'm not. Do you, enjoy what you do? If not...just stop...don't stay there and rot...you got soul...yeah...soul....yeah...soul...yeah... Oiy...the humanity. Why can't I dump this from my hard drive???
4. I have moved home 24 times in my life. With quite a few more moves to come.
5. I have an irrational fear of dead people (I add the word "irrational" as if one could possibly add rational somewhere in that statement:S). If I could explain this, I would. I do believe that my growth was stunted due to sleepless nights with nightmares...lol;)
6. My husband is a veteran. Thank you to ALL veterans! Our familiarity and comfort in the peace, freedom and security that we are graced with is due in large part to the sacrifices that they...and their families...have made. Thank you!
That's enough mindless material for one day. Enjoy your additional day to spend with the fam:D

Girl Time
I got a chance to have some girl time this weekend. A friend opened her beautiful lake cottage to a bunch of us girls, so we could scrap all weekend long! Oh, it was wonderful! There's nothing like getting up in the morning and getting some scrapping in even before you've had a shower and then scrapping until the wee hours of the next morning. Not only did we get to scrap to our hearts content, there were brisk walks along the lake to be had, a visit to the local scrapbook store was made, participation in a round robin (see SISTV episode #26 for how-to) and FOOD (we took turns with meals, and man, can these girls cook)! So, in case you were wondering, here is what eight, hard-core, sleep-deprived scrappers look like on a Sunday morning after a two-day scrapping frenzy. Pretty cute, huh? Thanks girls, I had some serious fun and I look forward to doing it again! Amy

it's that time again...
can you believe christmas is in 49 days? i find that crazy.
every year, i have great intentions of handing out handmade christmas cards to all my friends. every year, that plan fails, because i realize a week before christmas that i have procrastinated way too much, and that it would be impossible to catch up.
but this year, i decided to start early. this weekend, i started my cards.
here is one of them:

(Supplies: American Crafts paper, Fiskars stickers and epoxy dots, Doodlebug button)
wish me luck this year :)

Late check in ...
Well, when you are on holiday the time just flies and before you know it it is time for another blog update.....
We are having a fantastic time in Hawaii, and I was planning on showing this really cool little T-shirt and key ring that I found for scrapbookers - but with the lack of DH near the computer and my incapacity to do anything technical I am unable to link these up today. Next time....
Meanwhile, the photos are stacking up for when we get home. Plenty of vacation pages no doubt. We spent yesterday up at the Kiluaea (sp?) Volcano site. OMG! How cool is that!! I can't imagine that there is a place anywhere else that looks like that. And, yes, we did get to see lava! COOL. (...Again, pics when I am more enabled!)
Cheers,
Amelia

Mini Albums
I think creating mini albums is my favorite thing to make and placing them around the house for friends and family to look at gives your home such a warm feeling. If you have never created one I suggest you try. But beware... they are addicting. This mini album is about what makes our house a home. I photographed
certain items that I have placed in our home that just would not be the
same without them such as my brother's trumpet, since he is no longer
with us this always brings back so many memories spent with him, my
grandmother's kitchen fan... I remember when we would go and visit her every summer and this fan was on from sun up to sun down. As you can see each page will have a special memento as well as journaling explaining why these items make our house a home. Products used: Kit by Cocoa Daisy (November), House Binder, Antique Key, Velvet Blossoms, Velvet Ric Rac, Hearts by Maya Road, Chipboard Letters by American Crafts, Glitter by Making Memories and Doodlebug. Wishing you all the best. Lisa M. Pace

In need of some inspiration?
Well...that is if you can read chicken scratch. And if you can...interpret them any way you wanna:)

How cool is this idea from Dude Designs!? It is a little idea journal (5"x3").

On the back side of each page there is space to scribbled down some notes with the prompts: "Photos, colors, techniques/tools, products, and words". So perfect for shoving into my purse:)
For the front and inside covers, I loaded my stamp with lots of paint and stamped atop the raw chipboard covers. I then painted the edges green. Painted the title "yummy" on the inside (Why? I have no idea...it was just the word that struck me as I was making the kit last night;), added a wee bit of bling and gaffers tape and called it a night.
I am happy to have my scribbles now in one compact little book:) Now to wait till tonight to start scrappin':) If you use one of the sketches...post a link...I would love to see it:D And don't worry about giving "credit" to the sketch...if you can make something from my scrawlings...then you are much talented;) Happy creating!

It is a large wooded cube with 6 designs. Love that stamp...bought it many moons ago.

Where'd it go?
I know it's technically only November 6th, but I have to ask...Where did November go? Just last week, everyone was excited about Halloween. There were blow up ghosts & goblins in every other yard. Pumpkins in abundance. An obvious fall vibe. (even with the decidely warm temps in Texas! LOL)
Now, there's Christmas music piped into the stores. I'm already frantically searching for the kids' Christmas gifts, making a list of things to buy for family, and there are people hanging up lights in my neighborhood! The only good thing that comes from apparently completely skipping November is that kit club I design for sent some super-cool Rhonna Farrar Christmas goodies to play with. Which actually isn't a bad idea b/c it'll give me time to actually work on Christmas cards before December 20th like usually happens! LOL :)
Here's one of the projects I did for the 1st gallery at My Favorite Memories...

Yeah, I'm excited that Christmas is coming. But I think I want to take a break...maybe have a little turkey and pumpkin pie before I go too crazy. *Then* I'll get the tree down and prep for Christmas. Well, except for the hunt for the kids gifts. That's going full-steam ahead till I find the right deal! Bwhahaha! ;)
Happy NOVEMEBER y'all! Enjoy it, be thankful for it, scrap it! LOL :) ...Staci

Creating Grid Patterns with Magic Mesh!
I saw this grid stamp which was exclusively being made for a kit club. I tried to order it but was already out of stock. So I tried to find a way to create the same effect and when I spotted my magic mesh, I knew it was to be used in my craft for a totally different way.
Here are the materials you will need:
1. An Acrylic Block
2. Self adhering magic mesh
3. Brush and acrylic paint

You can see that I cut a strip of magic mesh and adhered it to an acrylic block. I simply applied acrylic paint over it with a foam brush. I applied the paint thick on some areas and thin on some areas. I stamped it over a time piece journal keeper I made and the effect looks like this...

This was made using gold Ranger acrylic paint, Basic Grey Infuse papers and rub-ons, Prima chipboard, ribbon and bling. the hands of the clock was attached with a brad so that you can have fun turing the hands and changing the time.
.jpg)
This is the journal when taken out of the holder. I needed a place to record and write my schedule/ deadlines for anything scrapbook related and I wanted it displayed in an area which will be visible to me most of the time. This is my solution. This is now displayed in my scrap area and it's a constant reminded that "the clock is ticking" (although this one is not! haha). You may want to try this some time. Feel free to contact me anytime for any questions you may have.
