For hoots and giggles...
ahhh... the 80's. (I'm the one in the front.)

[Designed for LifetimeMoments.com]
Kinda leaves you speechless, really.
And with that...I wish you one fantabulous weekend!

Glitter
I have lots of people email me asking what kinds of glitter I use on my projects. I have several different brands and all have a certain look/feel when used. If I am making something that has a vintage feel like the project below I use Shard Vintage Glass by Art Institute. On this project I used glitter by Martha Stewart to cover my chipboard letters. Her color choices are incredible. She has two types of glitter, one that is fine as shown below and one that is coarse. The fine glitter is so smooth and just flows out of the bottle like water. I love it. When I want to accent a design on my patterned paper I use Stickles by Ranger. On this project I accented the star burst pattern using Star Dust. Stickles is a wonderful glitter glue. The bird is covered in glitter by Making Memories. I use this a lot to cover chipboard letters and other embellishments. Their shimmer kits come in several different sets. I recently purchased some of the new Sugar Coating glitter assortment by Doodlebug. Their colors are so unique and have several different shades of color in each bottle giving your project an incredible burst of color. These are certain to be one of my new glitter addictions. You can also purchase their glitter in l arger bottles which I will be doing. When using glitter on raw chipboard I always paint the chipboard piece with a color as close to the color of the glitter as possible. This gives a nice even solid color on the embellishment. When applying glitter to an embellishment I cover the entire piece or portion to be glittered with 3-D Crystal Lacquer, shake on the glitter, gently press the glitter into the crystyal lacquer with my finger and shake off the excess glitter and let dry. I hope this has answered some of your questions. If you have more let me know and I will do my best to help. Lisa M. Pace

Scrapping Playlist
i have to listen to music while i scrap. it keeps the mojo flowing! my scrapping playlist is a bit random, which is reflective of my musical tastes - i listen to a mix of upbeat, mellow, and classical tunes. here's some of the stuff i listen to while scrapping it up -
- The Shins - Turn On Me (actually, anything by the Shins keeps me going. It's happy, fun music)
- George Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue
- Hellogoodbye - Here (In Your Arms)
- Panic! at the Disco - I Constantly Thank God for Esteban (I've come to find that, for some reason, this band gets my creative juices going.)
- Lifehouse - Spin
- Corinne Bailey Rae - Put Your Records On
- The Harry Potter soundtrack (i'm totally serious)
- Imogen Heap - Headlock
- Rachael Yamagata - Be Be Your Love
- The Garden State soundtrack
- Radiohead - No Surprises
- Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
- Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone
- Jet - Are You Gonna be My Girl
- Coldplay - Fix You
- The Decemberists - The Crane Wife
- Plain White T's - Only One
- anything by Arcade Fire
- John Ralston - Fragile
- MuteMath - Typical
- Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue
- Rilo Kiley - Silver Lining
- The Format - Time Bomb
i could go on and on with my list, but that's just a sampling :)
what do *you* listen to when you scrap?

Decorating Fool...
My chair finally came!!!! YEAH!!! So excited for it to arrive. It was a little smaller than the old chair so it did require some re-arranging of the living room, which Bob was not too excited to help me with. But he was a trooper, even though my urge to move furniture happened during one of his favorite shows (Journeyman)...thank you DVR!!! :) Check it out...

Next, we're moving on to painting. I'm going for paint chips today and hopefully we'll be painting this weekend!!! I can't wait to get this re-decorating really under-way. :)
Wanted to leave ya with a layout this week. Yeah, in case y'all hadn't noticed, I'm kinda digging the red/turquoise mix these days! LOL :)

Have a smilie filled day! ...Staci

Look Mom!! No Hands!
Before you get too scared---this is not the attack of the freaky painting lady. Okay, well...actually, it is. But I really don't look like that all the time. Really. :) To clarify a bit---we decided that plain ol' lazy Saturdays were just too boring. So we decided to paint. Not just a cutesy little bathroom, ooh no. The house. The entire *outside* of the house. My job was painting the trim because I'm the only one who can paint a straight line. I swear someone secretly got up in the middle of the night and extended the window frames. Just to spite me. So anyway, this is what has been going on at our house for the last two weekends. The reason I'm wearing that goofy get-up is because on Saturday, it was 50 degrees out. My hands were so cold I was having trouble painting in a straight line on the window frame. (I blame it on the cold. Because everyone knows I paint perfectly straight lines.) For those moms who have been holding their breath since seeing the ladder photo...you can let it out now. I was perfectly safe up there. Except the one time my sister was painting below me and fell against the ladder, which resulted in me grabbing the freshly painted window ledge. (no worries...I lived to blog about it.) After that harrowing incident my sister felt inspired to tell her favorite blonde joke. Our conversation went something like this: Breanna: "Hey Britt! How do you make a blonde fall off a ladder? Wave at her with both hands. Hahaha..."Brittany: "....You know, from this angle I could drop a blob of paint directly on your head."I forgot to mention that we had our iPod sound dock playing on the back porch, and as I was climbing up the ladder (for the first time...gulp), a song started: "Now it's crystal clear I'm falling foooor you...". Somebody has a wicked sense of humor. LOL. That's pretty much how my Saturday went. The neighbors probably think we're nuts. (and we laugh because there's nothing they can do about it. Bwahaha.) Here is a pic of the finished house...pretty spiffy, eh? :) Brittany

The Pick Up Line
Why is it that I feel like the majority of my day has this view?? Oh maybe it is because it does!! ha! The pick up line. Whether it is at my daughters preschool or my son's school, it feels like I spend a lot of time looking at the back end of other vehicles! Somedays I have to get in a line like this four times!! There are definitely days when it really gets to me but in the same breath it is a chance to visit with my kids before they run off to play or get distracted in something at home. They are held "captive" in my car for a few minutes and I get to pick their brains about their days. I think they kind of like it too. A chance to relax a minute and take it all in before we move on to the next thing!
So here's to tomorrow's pick up line....hope it moves quickly!

Spooky fun!!!
Okay... so it wasn't so spooky... but it was a lot of FUN!! The kids and I decided to go and see the Midnight Circus performance this morning on Daley Plaza. It was just amazing!! The kids had a great time and so did I. They have at least three shows a day now through Halloween so I think we'll try to go again soon. You've just got to love living in the city and having access to all kinds of cool stuff like this. I haven't gone through all of my pictures yet, but here are a couple... Well... now that we're home the kids and I have to get back to (home)school! Have a great week! Tracie

Friendship Found
It's amazing that I have found some of my closest friends through scrapbooking. There is just something about this craft that bonds people. I have just been scrapping for over two years but the friendship I found in this wonderful community is overwhelming. I have found friends here at home and even outside of my country.
Talking about friends, a group of scrapper friends called "Scrappinmoms" organized "Scrapfest 4". It was a blast! Our community of scrappers here in The Philippines is growing so fast and the talent that can be found here is amazing. I'm already looking forward to the next one. Here is a picture of the Scrappinmoms. Oh and yes, I'm there too! I'm the one with the sunglasses on my head.

Time flies.
..sometimes. Usually when things are good and fun and when you don't want it to. I have just realised that the last five years have gone by so quickly. As I have mentioned (maybe once or twice!) on previous posts, we are headed to Hawaii for a vacation at the end of October. What I did not mention was that we planned the trip to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. It feels like yesterday that we actually got married and then headed off on our honeymoon. So, I guess my point is that it must have been a great 5 years as the time has flown by incredibly quickly.
I thought it would be fun to start looking through some of our honeymoon pics - and this layout came about.

I should really get on with it and start scrapping the rest..

flickr obsession
so, one of my biggest addictions this year has been the photo-sharing site, flickr.
i try not to go there *too* often, because every time i'm on the site, i could literally be there for hours, scoping out eye candy, discovering new photographers, browsing other people's favorites, etc. it's really an addiction.
but there is so much inspiration to be found there. photography has been one of my biggest hobbies lately, and i'm always on the hunt for inspiration. but there's inspiration for scrapping too (other artists' work, home decor streams, color inspiration, crafty streams, etc)!
anyways, here 's some stuff from my favorites:

1. walk through rain, 2. Fall, 3. umbrella tracks, 4. tutu meets railroad 2, 5. Engagement 9, 6. ity bity, 7. burried, 8. Engagement 3, 9. On the four marble planets the rings set with an amazing display, 10. marble toss, 11. Untitled, 12. 15 Years Later, I Still Wonder What the Hell Those People Were Doing...., 13. DAY 53| GREEK SUNSET|14 SEPTEMBER 2007, 14. rainbow umbrella, 15. Transference, 16. here's good. thanks. keep the change., 17. Nobody sees a flower really; it is so small. We haven't time, and to see takes time - like to have a friend takes time. --Georgia O'Keeffe, 18. monday, 19. would you like a sip?, 20. completely unfocused, 21. sliced, 22. Untitled, 23. *, 24. you'd never know that i sweep and hate pink, 25. emma♥, 26. Day 252/365.......Fall in my hand, 27. All you need is....., 28. Power Poufs!, 29. Power Poufs!, 30. vt wonen, 31. make it big
I don't know what has gotten into me lately but for some reason the past three layouts I've done has featured a big oversized photo as my background paper. I've just been having fun with it, letting the photos do all the work. I've used the bare minimum of scrapsupplies. Such a switch from my usual style, but some photos just call for it. Here's my latest (the other two have been of our trip to Paris last spring). We went to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO last month. My parents aren't too far from there and we get season tickets every year. This particular trip was after school was back in session AND it had stormed that morning... so we practically had the park to ourselves. We didn't have to wait in any lines and could ride over and over again without having to get off. This was fun for the kids but it was also fun for my husband and myself. We could walk onto the BIG rollercoasters without having to leave my parents to entertain the kids for long periods of time. The big drawback that day was that we could stay on the water rides without having to get off... which the kids were completely thrilled to ride the log ride four times in a row... however my husband and I suffered with wet clothes the whole rest of the day (why does this not phase kids??). This is of Alex on the swings... I just got a new photo action set this week so this was my first time using it. Totally in love! They're by my Texas photo playdate pal, Brenda. We moved to Chicago from the DFW area over Christmas last year, but prior to that we had a group of women who would get together about once a month to take pictures of our kids and talk cameras... I miss them! Okay... before I get all sappy... the alpha is Black Sheep Alpha by Lauren Reid, the white alpha brush is Shmootzy Alpha No. 4 by Nancie Rowe Janitz and fonts are handwriting - dakota and chalkboard. Well.. that's it for me! Have a great rest of the week! Tracie
