I didn't clean my room yesterday. Some days the mess just doesn't want to be put away! But today I must because I can't even craft in there right now.
So how do I have a new craft to show you today you ask? (Yes, I can read your thoughts now!) Last night Harper had a huge project for school she was finishing up. Normally this would have taken place in my scrapbook room - she sits on the other side of my table - but since the table was hiding beneath a ton of mess she worked at the dining room table. Instead of her keeping me company, I decided to keep her company in the dining room. I pulled a minimum of supplies - paper cutter, some punches, a few stamps, some ink, a pair of scissors and a drawer of scrap paper and crafted as she worked.
This is what I made. (Funny that it is for her but she was so busy she never even noticed what I was making - she just saw I was scrapbooking!)

It is a matchbook style book of coupons for a valentine present.
Here is the side view.

I used a scrap of double sided paper (made by Scrapworks I believe) and cut a piece 3.5" x 6" (cover). From another piece of the scrap I cut a piece 3.5"x1.75" (binding that gets stapled to hold the book together). I cut it a little big so I could edge it with this border punch.
Coupons were printed next.

I used the free digital tickets I posted (used the blank one and added my own text) and resized them so they were approx 3" long. I used a total of 10 tickets with fun things like extra desert, special day with dad, more computer time, staying up late, etc. All things an almost 12 year old will love!
They can be flipped through, pulled out and redemed whenever she wants. (I printed them on lightweight cardstock and cut them out with scissors.)

I then stamped some designs that match up with these punches to decorate it. (I will take some photos soon to show you that in action.)
Pretty quick to make and a nice little gift for your kidlets that doesn't involve sugar. :)
