Zen-Like Guidance from a Page Map
For a long time I’ve been meaning to create a scrapbook page to capture a weekend camping trip my husband and I took to a charming small Ohio town called Yellow Springs. It was late October and, because of a long end-of-summer draught, the leaves had not yet turned, and the weather was unseasonably warm. Our last morning of what we knew would probably be the last camping trip of the year (cold weather adventurers we are not), we went on a long hike to savor the fading signs of summer, and were fortunate enough to walk for more than an hour without seeing another soul—a Sunday morning moment of Zen far better than those we watch every week on CBS!
I went a little overboard with my camera and had so many photos that the prospect of starting a page was a bit overwhelming. My thoughtful coworker Eileen came to the rescue with a
Scrapbook Page Map
perfectly suited to grouping a selection of some of my favorite images.
From there, the end result came easily with some dimensional embellishments, a combination of rub-on letters and stickers for my title, and simple handwritten journaling that reads “Yellow Springs—a perfect weekend.” I used a black ink pad to further distress the left side of the page and the sticker letters for a more unified look.
What peaceful moments can a page map guide you to capture on your next layout?
Smiles,
Jessica
