Book Giveaway! Paper + Pixels
Z0350_Paper-and-Pixels-Cove.gif
GIVEAWAY CLOSED
I am very excited to announce that the newest Memory Makers Book is due to hit our warehouse this week! That book is Paper + Pixels by May Flaum and Audrey Neal. In it you’ll learn how to create hybrid scrapbook layouts, meaning that they have both digital and traditional elements to them. May and Audrey do a terrific job of starting simple (with cool stuff that you can do in Microsoft Word) and building to more intermediate techniques (using Photoshop Elements). So no matter how little or much you want to jump into the hybrid world, you’ll find what you’re looking for.

And as a super terrific bonus, this book includes a CD with 10 digital kits and 2 digital template kits. The kits, designed by well-known digital designers including Katie Pertiet and Michelle Coleman, offer all sorts of goodies to help you get started.

Ihop-layout.gif
In fact, I dove into the hybrid world this weekend, using a photo frame from the kit by Kim Christensen that's included on the CD. It was very exciting, really. And while my first steps were small (the only other digital element on this layout is the journaling I printed onto patterned paper), I can tell already that I might just get hooked.

What sorts of digital elements do you include in your layouts? Or what would you like to learn about the world of digital or hybrid?

And check back later this week for more layouts inspired by this book and for an interview with the authors.

Until next time,
Christine

Layout journaling reads: Well, actually Ivan {hearts} French toast. In fact, he told the Ihop servers that he wanted French toast about three times before it was actually time for us to order. And by the way, if you order French toast for Ivan, don't bother with the kid's portion. Go ahead and get the full two slices. He really loves French toast. December 2007, special day for Ivan's 4th birthday

Papers: K&Company, BoBunny, BasicGrey
Digital kit: from Paper +Pixels, kit by Kim Christensen

I was a paper scrapper for about 2 years - have all the 'stuff'. Then found digital, and been doing that exclusively for three years. So I would love to reasonably combine the two - more ideas and inspiration would help me use all the paper 'stuff' which includes, stamps, punches, scissors, embossing templates, markers, pens, paper, paper, paper! Doing digital exclusively leaves me yearning for the feel of paper - but is sometimes easier to do than a totally IRL layout. So I would love this book as a starting point for combining my two passions.
1/14/2008 12:42:28 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am a digital scrapper pretty much exclusively, and one element I use 95% of the time is a frame. I pic my picture and my frame (or frames) and THEN the background, and go from there.
1/14/2008 2:30:34 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
My layouts are now 100% digital, but I love to see ways of using digital to create hybrid crafts and cards.
1/14/2008 3:37:25 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am mostly a paper scrapper but would love to learn the art of digital scrapbooking and combining the two would be great since I have a huge stash.
1/14/2008 5:52:33 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have been paper scrapping and recently started downloading all the free digital kits... I just don't know how to use them. This book would help me get started and increase my creativity in the scrapbook arena.
1/14/2008 7:03:05 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am a collector of digital kits, but haven't really gotten into to using them much. I have printed a few frames and quotes onto transparencies but, I really need more instruction.

1/14/2008 7:54:11 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love to play around with my photos before I print them. I like to add frames and bling to them using my digital elements.
I also love to use digital journaling spots on my LO's. They are so cute and fun!!!
1/14/2008 7:54:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am looking forward to this book. Right now I do journaling and some titles on my PC and some photo manipulation. I would really like to learn more about colorizing pictures and printing my journaling in different shapes. Also using some of the cool brushes I always see in the mag. and have no idea how to make them look right on one of my pages.
1/14/2008 7:55:24 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am really a paper scrapper and expect to stay such (I love the look and feel of the paper in my hands and stuff!); however, I virtually never complete a layout without using my computer, whether it be editing a photo, creating a title treatment or journaling...I find creative ways to use word art and text boxes all the time. I, too, have a folder of digital kits collected, but haven't put them to use yet. Maybe this book would help.
1/14/2008 8:56:36 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have tons of digital elements that I have collected over the past year and while I occasionally will print one out (through MS Word) to use on a LO, that is as far as I have gotten. I would love to learn how to use all those digital brushes and stuff!
1/14/2008 9:06:22 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Sadly, I have had PSE for a year and have yet to learn to use it; so, I really need this book :P I don't see completely giving up paper and embellies but I would love to do some designing digitally as well
1/14/2008 10:43:58 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
What doesn't go on a digital LO? if it goes on a paper LO it can go on a digital one too! I love adding frames, ribbons and glitter, as well as special touches like scans of memorabilia without the bulk and worry about whether it is acid-free. I love digital scrapping, and even better is to print the gorgeous goodies out and combine them with all of the traditional 3D embellishments!
1/14/2008 11:02:06 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Oh, what a wonderful book! I've done a minimal amount of digital scrapbooking ... just can't give up the touchy-feely part ... but this would be a great solution for me to do some of it on the computer, and some hands-on!! :D
1/15/2008 8:54:44 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love paper scrapping but I wish I knew more about digital scrapping to incorporate into my layouts. I don't have Photoshop yet and am hesitant to buy it until I know I will do digitial scrapping. So, I am supper excited to read that this book has techniques that can be done with Word.
1/15/2008 10:00:05 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Looks like an awesome, must-have book. For me, pictures are where the page starts, so I'd love some tips on fixing and enhancing photos. I started as a paper scrapper and turned digi, but I still love actually touching and working with my hands, so hybrid is definitely something that I'm interested in. Great job!
1/15/2008 10:08:18 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I recently did a few hybrid layouts and have to say I loved it. It was so much fun. I'm really interested in doing digital layouts, but I don't want to spend all my scrapbooking time in front of the computer. Hybrid scrapping is a great solution for me.
1/15/2008 10:10:56 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Really looking forward to this book. I am slowly working my way into hybrid scrapbooking. Can't wait to order my copy!!
1/15/2008 10:58:07 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Looks like an awesome book. Can't wait to get it.
1/15/2008 11:27:40 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have so many digii kits, brushes, actions and images that I have downloaded over the past year or so but need some more instructions on how to use them better! This book sounds like it would be prefect for me!!

The only things I've done so far are print pictures and journaling in Word. I'd love to learn more, especially about using kits. I think digital might be good for me because I tend to move things around so much before I'm satisfied.
1/15/2008 12:04:24 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am so thrilled for May to be published!! She is a wonderful person. I can't wait for the chance to meet her in person. Tkx May for all you share with us all.
1/15/2008 12:07:32 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I havent converted yet to digital but I adore May and her work:)
1/15/2008 12:18:02 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Congratulations on the impending release of the book! It looks awesome! Can't wait to get ahold of it as I already use digital aspects in my traditional scrapping...can wait to kick it up a notch!!!
1/15/2008 12:20:31 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Congrats on the new book. I'd love to get it, to learn how to add digital elements, such as typing titles, and learning how to put text where I want it on my layout. (especially if you don't have a wide format printer). I have one layout in particular, I want to put a title on a dog bone (cut from cardstock) but all letter stickers & chipboard are too big, so I'd either have to do rubons or type it, and I'm not sure how to arrange it so the words are formatted perfectly on the bone.

1/15/2008 12:29:28 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I would love to use Microsoft Word more to print out my titles AND journaling. It would be so cool to finally learn how to use text boxes!
1/15/2008 12:30:14 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am a paper scrapper only but would love to learn how to add any digital elements. Thanks for the chance to win. congrats to May!
1/15/2008 12:36:24 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)

1/15/2008 12:37:42 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)

1/15/2008 12:45:47 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Wow Congrats on what looks to be a fabulous book! Can't wait to see it in person. I paper scrap and use my computer for journaling and little things but would love some inspiration in trying more! Fun!
1/15/2008 12:59:30 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have attempted digital, but not really in depth. I am looking to get into it a bit deeper. I use my computer to print journaling, but am not sure how to try doing a complete page. I am currently searching for a 12 x 12 printer that has great print quality. I would love a copy because May has been a HUGE inspiration to me and I know that she will help me jump in with both feet and get started. Thank you for the opportunity and Congrats to May!
1/15/2008 1:05:14 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have been a paper scrapper for years but have seen many layouts that are digital or have digital elements and I love the look. I have no idea where to get started or what I need. I would love to have this book as inspiration and to help me get started in hybrid scrapbooking.
1/15/2008 1:08:57 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am moving to more and more hybrid layouts and am interested in learning the balance of digital and traditional elements on a page. I am also interested in different printing techniques.
1/15/2008 1:12:05 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I would LOVE to win this book!!! I can't wait to get a glimpse at it! Congrats ladies!
1/15/2008 1:34:56 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Wow, how exciting!! Can't wait to read it!
1/15/2008 2:00:01 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I would love to learn how to make digital layouts or add some digital layouts. I am still learning to do paper layouts (that aren't super basic). I occasionally print journaling from my computer.
1/15/2008 2:08:05 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
This book looks so COOL!

I love printing digital wordart and brushes onto 'rub-on' transperancy film. I then have Rub-ons that I can use in a traditional way, totally customized just the way I want them.

hugs,
Angie
1/15/2008 2:13:55 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
What sorts of digital elements do you include in your layouts? I'm a pretty eclectic scrapper & tend to use about anything and everything! :) I love ribbons and buttons & great word art!

I can't wait to see this book! It sounds wonderful!

I have no idea how to do digital scrap booking. I want to try it though. Maybe getting a copy of this book would motivate to try learning the new way to scrap? Hope I get picked! I never win anything. ;*)
1/15/2008 7:04:03 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)

1/15/2008 7:57:02 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am fairly new to digital scrapbooking but love Adobe Photoshop 6.0. I have used it to change a color photo from B&W and added color to one area on a photo. I would love to receive the book and CD to learn more about HOW to do digital scrapping as well as learning about hybrid scrapping! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to win this phenominal book!

1/15/2008 8:57:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have seen an improvement in my memory after doing some mind exercises on a daily basis. Do check out http://www.photographic-memory.org, it helped me and it can definitely help you too.
1/15/2008 9:13:37 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Go May! Your book looks great!

1/15/2008 10:35:05 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Yea for May and Audrey!
1/15/2008 10:41:27 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am so excited for you May! I have always wanted to try digital, I even bought Photoshop Elements with digital in mind. So far I haven't figured it out. I can't wait to see your book.
1/15/2008 10:53:21 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
This book sounds so interesting! I use Word for journaling, clip art, etc, but I'm excited about learning to incorporate some additional digital elements into my traditional scrapping. (what's up with those 'brushes', anyhow? I so want to find out!)
1/15/2008 11:11:36 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I can hardly wait to have a look at it. Sounds terrific.
1/16/2008 1:08:24 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Congrats to May. She is fabulous. I can't wait to get her new book!!
1/16/2008 1:52:16 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
This is so cool. Congrats to May and Audrey on this release. I am so excited to see what's inside. I'm a traditional scrapbooker for the most part, but I can see how digital embellishments could be a fun addition. :]
1/16/2008 3:24:21 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
At present the only thing digital on my pages is the photos (yes I'm a bit behind the times)but I have found myself thinking about digital more and more. We travel a lot and when I get home I'm always overwhelmed by the amount of photos I've taken. Now if I had a laptop, I could work on page elements whilst I'm away - how cool would that be. The only problem is that I wouldn't know where to start with any of this digital stuff - this would be a fantastic starting point!!!
1/16/2008 8:33:18 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love May's and Audrey's work. I am thrilled to hear that they teamed together for this book. I am ready to take the plunge. This book should give me all the courage I need to take the digi plunge. It's release cannot come fast enough for me. Thank you for the chance to win a copy!
1/16/2008 11:06:22 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Wow this looks like a great book. Can't wait to see it
1/16/2008 11:11:43 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
This book sound really interesting, yet I have SO much regular scrappin stuff.... what would I do with it all???? I try to stay clear of digi, yet, I want to look.... does that make sense??!! ;-))
Enjoy your day!

I'd so love to win Audrey and May's book. Looks and sounds like just the help I need. Thanks for sharing.
1/16/2008 11:32:07 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Oh..I would love to win this book. I have heard about it from May and think it would be a great book for ideas.
1/16/2008 12:28:42 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
WOW looks like a fabulous book...would love to win it myself for I'm just taking the plunge into hybrid...yay!
1/16/2008 3:13:55 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have not entered the world of digital scrapbooking yet!! I would love the book since I am sure it will offer even more wonderful ideas for my scrapbooks and cards.
1/16/2008 3:33:08 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am a paper scrapper also, but very curious!!
1/16/2008 3:50:09 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I would love to learn about both, combining all the elements would be the best of both worlds!
1/16/2008 4:01:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I would love to try hybrid! At this point I am purely digital, but given my lifelong love of paper it seems a natural progression for me. Some of my top favorite designers have contributed to the kit, so it's a must-have for me! :)
1/16/2008 4:13:34 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I would love to learn more on digital scrapbooking and would love this book!
1/16/2008 4:16:25 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love doing elements on cards, projects and layouts that are hybrid. Not so into going 100% digi, but mixing things up a bit, I love to do.
1/16/2008 4:36:34 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Hi
I am a relative new comer to scrapbooking and find that I don't seem to be able to keep up to date with the paper side of scrapbooking. I would love to learn more about digital scrapbooking so that maybe just maybe I can get up to date and keep up to date with a digital scrapbook.
Thanks for all your interesting as helpful articles.
1/16/2008 4:38:16 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I haven't jumped in to digital scrapping yet. This book looks like it would be a great way to start, with the hybrid approach.
1/16/2008 5:06:27 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Hi

I would love to learn how to incorporate digital into my paper pages. There are so many beautiful layouts that I have tried to copy using only paper and embellishments. But unfortunately they never turn out as beautifully. I believe that by using both I would achieve a completely new level of scrapbooking. Thanks for the chance. April
1/16/2008 5:09:28 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Can't wait to see this book! :)
1/16/2008 5:12:43 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Intersting - I would love to win this book to further explore its ideas.

1/16/2008 5:18:17 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
As a college student I would love to have this book to help me more digital scrapbooking. Im excited that it is coming out!
1/16/2008 5:21:58 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love to use overlays and digital brushes on my photos before printing them - so much easier than using rub-ons or stamps to get the same effect. I also love to mat my photos - it's easy to match the color exactly to coordinate with the photo, and add a texture filter to the color block to create your own orange-peel (sandstone) or traditional Bazzill (burlap-reduced) texture. Still, I find that I would love to hybrid more than I do. Seems it is either all Photoshop or all traditional, more often than not. No doubt this book is filled with great ideas.
1/16/2008 5:30:05 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have done a lot of journaling digitally but not much else. I would really like to learn more about digital pages but never seem to have time to sit down for uninterrupted time to learn. Would like to win the book to help with that.
1/16/2008 5:31:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I would love to learn the basics of digital with an eye toward hybrid. It would make it easier to scrap my college age children's pictures that they take and send me!
1/16/2008 5:31:32 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I'm just starting out with digital scrapbooking, never even tried paper scrapbooking, so I need all the help I can get.
1/16/2008 5:44:23 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I'm just thinking of starting digital scrapbooking. Need all the help I can get.
1/16/2008 5:46:01 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I've not gotten into digital scrapbooking but I am thinking it is the way to go, since we recently moved into our 25 ft RV FULLTIME and I don't have a designated space for my scrapbook supplies or a place to work comfortably without taking up the whole table. Digital would be the way to go for me, I just need to know where to start and this book sounds like the one that would help me. I am so far behind and it was save me having to print all those pictures and stack them in boxes until I get to them too.
1/16/2008 5:46:32 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I do both traditional and digital scrapping, been with digital now for almost 2 years and do more of it than paper, but I am very very excited about the new trends towards hybrid scrapping so I would love to see more ideas about combining the two, especially for actual scrapbook pages. And this book looks great!

I've never done digital scrapbooking, but have been interested. One of the big things holding me back is I really enjoy the art of traditional scrapping. I haven't really thought about combining the two, but can't wait to try it out. It would certainly make things easier since most of my pics for the last several years are digital and I haven't printed them out yet!
1/16/2008 5:58:39 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love to digitally edit my pics and have printed journaling tags, and shapes to put on my LOs.
1/16/2008 6:07:57 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am a paper scrapper--I do some journaling on my computer and print pictures, but that is it. I am totally intimidated by digital scrapping, plus I like the dimension of paper scrapping. But, I have been thinking about a community education class on PhotoShop for my pictures. This book would be great.
1/16/2008 6:10:34 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I do only digital scrapping. Right now I'm just over my 300th page and counting. I love it. One of the things I love most is word art and journaling. I love the looks but sometimes I'm at a loss as how to create the stunning word art I see. I'd love to see some time devoted to teaching techniques. Looking forward to these new books!
1/16/2008 6:19:43 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have not done any digital scrapbooking yet. I would love to learn how from the very beginning. I am totally not sure about the whole digital world yet. I like to be able to feel the paper, stickers, glue and other embellishments with my hands.
1/16/2008 6:22:19 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
A hybrid book is exactly what I need. I need to be inspired (as if life wasn't enough?) and hope to take my scrapbooking to the next level.
1/16/2008 6:23:54 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am clueless as far as digitally scrapbooking. I am eager to learn but don't know anyone who does it. A book would be very helpful.
1/16/2008 6:23:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I use the computer for titles and journaling but would love to learn more ways to use it in scrapbooks.
1/16/2008 6:26:35 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have not used digital. I thought you had to have a 12x12 printer in order to do that? I would love to go digital.
1/16/2008 6:37:15 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
While I can't imagine doing totally digital layouts (I LOVE my paper!), I use my computer all the time for journaling and editing photos. While I have used Photoshop Elements for several years, I'm still very much a novice ... it's a pretty intimidating package! I'd love to have more instructions on how to use it and Word to create elements for my pages. I particularly would like instructions on formatting my journaling into shapes ... filling a circle, around a photo, typing in a spiral, etc.
1/16/2008 6:41:07 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have tried digital scrapping and am frustrated that I am not "getting it". I can pick out a background and locate my pictures, but I can't get my photos onto the background. I would love to do a multiphoto digital layout, "dropping" my photos into templates/grids. Maybe this book would help.

Whilst i haven't really tried digital scrapping, I would love to have the inspiration that I am sure this book would give. :-)
1/16/2008 6:49:48 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love both paper and digital scrapbooking, but have not really been able to combine them. I usually do either one or the other. I would love some ideas on combining the two.
1/16/2008 6:52:56 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am determined to learn to do scrapbooking via the digital method so I can tote my craft with me wherever I go. I can use all the help anyone, any site, any book can offer and the book looks pretty delicious from here! Good luck to all who enter. I shall plug along like the little train that could.
1/16/2008 7:10:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Most of my creations are HYBRID - I love the clutter free world of digital, but I like the feel of layering papers on papers. I'd like to see some detailed articles (maybe a monthly column) on how to combine a multitude of Photoshop/Elements)tools to create special effects (blending modes comes to mind. Maybe the column could have a beginner/simple version of the feature being explored, and a an "add-on" information kit for the more advanced digital scrapbooker.
Thank you

I am a paper scrapper but would like to try digital scrapbooking but I have no idea how to start it. Hoping that this one would help me in starting it.
1/16/2008 7:38:24 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love to use ribbons in digital scrapbooking. It's kind of magical the way the can be used.
1/16/2008 7:40:05 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am a traditional paper scrapper. However, I take thousands of pictures per year and I am getting overwhelmed. I would like to learn how to do digital and/or hybrid so that I can get them done faster. This book looks like a great way to learn.
1/16/2008 7:57:15 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have a computer, but have never used for scrapbooking. Would love to try!
1/16/2008 8:01:29 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I've never used digital scrapbook elements, but I'd love to try!
1/16/2008 8:03:24 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
have been paper scrappin for a long time, just learning digital, would love to combine the two.
1/16/2008 8:06:49 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
It sure does look like the answer to my desire to go hybrid!
1/16/2008 8:09:17 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Just getting into scrapbooking and have tried both digital and traditional paper method. I would love to check this book out to learn more techniques!!
1/16/2008 8:25:57 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Wow! this looks like a great book. I've played a little bit with photoshop elements, cropping my photos, but I have yet to even try and include digital elements in my pages. This book might be just what I need to do just that. :)
1/16/2008 8:32:33 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love hybrid. Almost all of my layouts contain a little bit from both worlds!
1/16/2008 8:36:41 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am slowly but surely learning digital. But I LOVE stuff! I have so much, but everytime I start to make a paper LO, I get stuck. I really need some ideas on how to combine my new digital knowledge with the scraproom full of traditional supplies I have hoarded. This looks like it would be great for that!
1/16/2008 8:37:06 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I started digital scrapbooking about two years ago.
I love it because I can add certain elements to the page that I wouldn't be able otherwise like for example watermarks. I also use a lot of stiching since I don't really know how to sew in real life. And for sure I love to add tons of kinds of embelishments and sparkly elements because they never get bulky.
1/16/2008 9:06:09 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Congrats on the new book! I'd love to get it, to learn how to add digital elements and start hybrid layout asap...
1/16/2008 9:27:42 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I too have been collecting some digital kits, but I still haven't made the switch to all digital. I use my computer for editing my photos--a lot--and sometimes add an embellishment. I would like to get into more digital scrapbooking!
1/16/2008 9:48:34 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Have only tried digital on a very small scale, but would like to learn more!
1/16/2008 10:07:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
What an excitng new book! The authors together would make for a dynomite read! Can't wait slobber all over it! UHH!
1/16/2008 10:10:13 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I download digital kits and print out some of the word art and embellishments on cardstock or transparencies then cut them out and use them on traditional scrapbook pages.
1/16/2008 10:40:29 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I would love to learn about digital. Other than recently using my digital camera a lot I haven't tried digital scrapbooking.

So far I have not make full digital page. I did however print embellishments, journaling, titles on my computer. The only digital scrapbooking software I have is from HP (quite a old one too). Sure like to learn and try something new.

1/16/2008 11:14:22 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I'm really trying to use more digital elements on my photographs (like titles and embelishments). This book looks like it will help me to include other digital items as well.
1/16/2008 11:33:33 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
My layouts are always pretty traditional, but i use digital elements mainly for titles and journaling, though I sometimes write myself. I've always wanted to learn more about incorporating more digital frames and embellishments in my layouts to look even better. I know this book will really help with that!
1/16/2008 11:35:18 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I'm a paper scrapper at heart, but the more I read about the digi world the more I'd like to give it a try. I've already used the computer for some titles and journaling, but besides that I'd like to try more techniques

I haven't ventured into the digital scrapping world yet -- I sit at a computer all day so when I scrap in the evenings, it wouldn't count as therapy if I also did that on the computer ... but, I really think I could get some use out of having some features/embellishments from the computer.
1/16/2008 11:50:32 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am a graphic artist who started paper scrapbooking about two years ago and I now have one whole room dedicated to my craft. I have always used the computer for adding titles, journaling, playing with my pictures and such. Recently, I have started working with digital including creating my own digital elements, papers and the such. I would really like to learn somemore on hybrid. How to really mix the two together to get the right look. I as several people have said love to feel and see the 3 dimensional paper pages. But digital has a few pluses as well. You can reuse your stuff and you can change the colors and such to match your needs. The best part is I can work for a half hour and not have to drag all my stuff out and then clean up and put it away. Hey...I just like to scrapbook and I don't care how I get there!
1/16/2008 11:57:27 PM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am a paper scrapper and the most I do with the computer some journaling and maybe some titles but not alot as I love to do alot of it by hand but if i can do learn different things from the computer that I can add to my layouts withoput taking away what i love to do that would great.
1/17/2008 1:01:23 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love digital stuff - but really need to learn how too use it more in my "paper-work" :o)
1/17/2008 4:03:16 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am so excited about this book! May i so talented-the book has to be super. I've been wanting to try hybrid and this is just what I need.
1/17/2008 5:59:11 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I would like to learn how to make the whole page (pic and surrounding elements) look antique / old world type style.
1/17/2008 6:34:46 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Just bought photoshop elements. What a golden opportunity to learn how to incorporate the digital with the traditional.
1/17/2008 6:39:38 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
This looks like it would be a great book to help me integrate digital and traditional supplies butter and plus I know it won't be in New Zealand for a while either.
1/17/2008 8:23:32 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I used to be a paper scrapper for several years but then discovered digital and I was hooked! I still have tons of paper supplies that I never got rid of. I would LOVE to learn how to incorporate both mediums into my scrapping. This book would be perfect for me!!
1/17/2008 8:26:41 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I use digital as limited as adding a picture frame or element to my photo before printing ... all the way to complete digital layouts. I love to see to see some hybrid projects, so I can combine my love for digital and paper.
1/17/2008 8:39:51 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I use my computer so much everyday at work that I vowed that I would never become a digital scrapper. But, I wanted to learn Photoshop and I figured that the best way to learn it was to try some digital scrapping tutorials and on-line classes. Now i'm hooked. I'll never give up my "paper and paste" scrapping but learning digital has opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
1/17/2008 8:53:27 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am just started to get into digital scrapbooking. My only problem is I don't have a 12 x 12 printer. It seems too expensive, and I don't know where I would put such a large size printer. I'm going to start a Photoshop class and see where it leads.
1/17/2008 9:01:24 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Hi, I am a paper scrapper who likes to dabble in digital. I use PSE but it's ancient (version 2! YIKES!) I really want to buy and updated version but I can't even figure out how to use a lot of the tools that come with my version let alone new tools. I am really interested in seeing your book. I feel it would bring my scrapbooking to a whole new level.
1/17/2008 9:04:39 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I've just gotten into digital scrapbooking over the past 6 months - LOVE that I don't have to haul a single bag of paper anywhere! :)
1/17/2008 9:11:54 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
What a GREAT idea for a book. I love using my computer to enhance my traditional pages. My favorite thing to do is to print out my photos in film-strip, negative, or storyboard formats. - betsy
1/17/2008 9:19:25 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I'm scrapping digitally exclusively right now, but I own a LOT of paper scrapping materials. I like the idea of combining the two in some imaginative ways. The ideas are already spinning! My 11 year old daughter does both, and I think she's going to love the hybrid ideas too!!
1/17/2008 9:46:07 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Thanks for the chance to win this new book. I have been doing a lot of my journeling for several years on my layouts but I would love to do more. I know I have got to take the time to stay at the computer long enough to learn the program for this new way of scrapbooking.
1/17/2008 9:46:08 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I love digital paper. I love the fact that you only pay once and can print it out as many times as you like. I have a wide format printer, so I can print in 12x12. I also like elements like frames and brushes that can be added to photos easily.

I just want to say that this book looks great and it's already on my wishlist!
1/17/2008 9:47:19 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I have only paper scrapped as of yet. I use a 12x12 layout and my printer does not do large size. I am at a loss of how to use digital scrapbooking. how do you mix the two?
1/17/2008 9:47:37 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am a primary paper scrapper... but I do use my computer to do a lot of journaling and manage my photos. I think hybrid scrapbooking is the next step for me to add some of the cool text elements on the photos but still allowing me to use some glue!
1/17/2008 10:05:05 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
I am mostly a paper scrapper but do like to dabble with digital scrapping and adding a few embellishements on the digital page. I usually like to write on the the photos or use digial elements for titles and journaling. I would like to learn more about the brushes and layers.
