After seeing all of Christy's super-cute digital layouts, I wanted to get in on the action! Each time I create a digital layout, I try to expand my style or do something I normally wouldn't do with my traditional pages. It was so fun to play with the Glitz Design collections. There were so many things I liked, so I had a hard time choosing. I finally decided on a colorful and bold background to bring out the bright colors in my photo. I feel the freedom to go bold with digital because I know it can always be changed in the future. It's harder to change things with a traditional page, which is why I play with things for a while before gluing anything down. Does your digital style differ from your traditional style? than a stack of amazing layouts!
 
We just called in more than 150 layouts for our next Scrapbook Idea Gallery and, as you can see, they are stacked in high piles on each of our desks. I interrupted Katie, as she was working hard unpacking and organizing artwork, for a quick photo shoot. We called in layouts of all kinds. We have one-page layouts, two-page layouts, red layouts and blue layouts. (Sorry I couldn’t resist. Dr. Seuss’ rhymes still run through this adult brain of mine.)
 
I can just feel the creative energy oozing from these pages. The stories they tell and the hours people spent preserving these memories are quite inspiring. Thank you for participating in our calls and giving us the opportunity to share your artwork with others!

I’ve been eagerly waiting for spring, so it’s wonderful to finally have the March/April issue in my hands. It’s our green issue, and it’s packed with environmentally friendly ideas and the fresh feeling of springtime. (No matter that I see melting snow, fog and rain outside my window today.)

I’m going to share some of my favorite aspects, behind-the-scenes bits, etc. So, grab your issue, a comforting beverage of your choice, and let’s dig in!

Assistant Editor GinaMarie Reda picked this fresh font because it reminded her of bold, graphic spring flowers and offered plenty of possibilities. Here are a few of her ideas (and an example of how she’s used the font):

•    Use the font to frame a part of your photo.
•    Enlarge the font and use the flowers as digital embellishments on a layout or photo.
•    Use the flowers as a border around a photo or the edge of a layout.

I love the board books from Cloud 9 (especially the Kraft book). I want to create a mini-album about my favorite city cafés, including my local Starbucks, and I think the Kraft board book and coordinating box will be the perfect home for such a project. (Check out the post below to see how Art Director Christy Miller used one of the board books.) I also love the earth-friendly cards from Green Field Paper Company. What a wonderful idea: Send heartfelt thoughts to a friend or loved one that they can then plant and watch bloom!
