Playing with the Free Digital Kit
11/2/2007 10:30:31 AM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00)
Celebrate Digital Scrapbooking Day (November 3) by downloading a free digital kit here. If you download this kit, I think you’ll have much fun as I did playing! I must confess that I’ve always wanted to be a digital girl, but didn’t really think I had the ability to pull all the elements together. That is why kits are such a wonderful thing! All of the elements are already there, you just add your own creativity and voila, a page is born! The only element I changed was the color hue of one of the parentheses because I wanted a little pop of green to tie into the colors of the photo. I used picnick.com to add some effects to the photo and add the text on the photo and the ribbon. I then put everything together in Photoshop Elements, and I’m proud of my first all digital page. Download the kit and start celebrating Digital Scrapbooking Day!

Create something, Inspire everyone.

Check out the new designs at our Café Press shop!
11/1/2007 11:06:58 AM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00)
Hi friends!

A great big THANK YOU goes out to Michelle Coleman of littledreamerdesigns.com for her contributions of artwork to the MM Café Press Shop! Here are some of the products with Michelle’s cool designs:

Come to our MM Café Press Shop to see the designs in a larger format. (The one you see above on the first journal and second messenger bag says: Plant Ideas. Watch Them Grow.) And keep checking back—we hope to have more new designs soon. Corrie Schaffeld, a book designer for MMBooks, is putting together a design that will grace a T-shirt that the guys in your life will love!

Here’s an update on our messenger bags: We still love them! They’re sturdy enough to transport our planners and lunches back and forth from home, and the yellow is cheerful and, well, just makes us feel happy to carry around!

We hope you find something wonderful for yourself and/or a friend in our shop, and then show us pictures of you and your MM stuff in the forum.

Happy shopping!

Peace and love,
 Patty

Wedding Album Update and a Question ...
10/29/2007 1:15:03 PM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00)

Hi friends!

As you can see, my daughter's wedding was full of happiness and love. That's me with Megan in the first photo, the bride with two cousins (one she gained by marriage) in the second pic, and the new husband and wife preparing to leave for their weeklong honeymoon at Disney World in the last (hence the ears on the top hat and veil)!

And I'm thrilled to report that I'm keeping up with the scrapbook album I began for the kids when they got engaged. I have room for about seven more layouts, and in creating this memory album I've discovered something about what kind of memory keeper I am. On some pages I simply want to put a bunch of photos with captions so I remember all the details. On other pages, I like to put just one or two photos and then play on the layout (adding embellishments, color, etc.)

So here's the question: What do you do with your layouts? Come to the forum and let's talk about these two different ways of memory keeping.

Peace and love,
 Patty

Halloween Cards Take 2
10/26/2007 4:18:21 PM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00)

I've been busy making Halloween cards, too, so I thought I'd share. (Note: For my friends and loved ones who will be receiving these cards, I have not yet mailed them, so if you're seeing them here first, I do apologize. Haha. I'll get them in the mail tomorrow!)

Supplies: Patterned paper, letter stickers, stickers (Reminisce)
              Black cat dimensional stickers (K&Company)

This weekend, I also have plans to bake Halloween cookies, but we'll see how that goes. I've yet to decide on a recipe.

And I second what Beth said. I hope your weekend includes some Halloween fun!

Halloween Cards
10/26/2007 9:53:15 AM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00)
With Halloween just around the corner, I decided to make cards for family and friends, but wanted the process to be quick and simple. With premade cards as the base, one sheet of Making Memories patterned Halloween paper and complementary 3-D Halloween embellishments, and orange and black cardstock, I created six cards super fast. Here are three of them. Quick and simple, for sure, and just the thing for sending trick-or-treat greetings!

Hope your weekend includes some Halloween fun!

Best,
Beth

A Scrappy Costume Idea
10/25/2007 11:59:18 AM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00)
Mask_Web.jpgI decided to follow today's prompt in the October calendar on page 14 and create a mask using scrapbooking supplies. I cut a mask-like shape and then began to adhere paper, apply rub-ons and attach flowers. And to top the whole thing off, I used dashes of glitter for some sparkle. I’ve always been a bit shy of a lot of glitz, but after reading Master ’08 Lisa Pace’s blog entry about glitter, I was a bit inspired. To finish off the mask, I simply punched holes in the sides and used ribbon and brads to make a tie. This project might be the perfect answer for anyone who is sewing-impaired (like me) and will probably never make a Halloween costume—unless, of course, I can use my scrapbooking supplies to do so! Have you used your scrapbooking supplies to make an entire Halloween costume before? Tell us about it at the Scrappy Costume Ideas thread in the forum.

Create something. Inspire everyone.
GinaMarie

Supplies:
Glitter and brads: K & Company Fresh Paint embellishment tubes
Glue for glitter: Inkessentials Glossy Accents by Ranger
Rub-ons: American Crafts
Misc.: flowers/paper/ribbon

The bags are easy to order and arrive in a couple of days. Past Master Catherine Feegal-Erhardt reports ordering some goodies to give away at a class she'll be teaching on a cruise ship. What about you? What are you doing with your stuff from Cafe Press?

Share photos of yourself and/or friends enjoying MM goodies—come to the forum and post your pics at the Cafe Press Photos thread.

Peace and love,

Frosty Fun!
10/19/2007 12:30:54 PM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00)
DSCF0336_sm.jpgEarlier this week MM recieved some new product from Heidi Grace. I totally fell in love with the Frost Blvd. collection. The different shades of blue, silver, white and warm grey evoked some wonderful memories from last winter.

I immediately became inspired to take the product home and create a Christmas tag and a book to hold photos and journaling for the winter days that lie ahead. I am not a big fan of the cold weather, but there's something to be said of warm blankets, hot chocolate and sitting by the fireplace with a great book in hand.

Even better: I have one tag done for a Christmas present and a book just waiting to be filled with warm memories. For more holiday project ideas click here.

I hope Friday flies by for you so you can run home, spend time with those you love and have a restful weekend!

Christy

Supplies:
Heidi Grace: Frost Blvd. collection (patterened paper, satin stickers, rub-ons, ribbon)
Note: I even used part of the packaging because it was so cute. A great way to recycle, right?  :)
