You can't always plan when a spontaneous moment of family bonding is going to take place. So when it does happen, running for your camera seems appropriate but can result in the type of photos you see in my before photos. Dark (I mean, pitch black!), out of focus, certain members of the family not looking at the camera, etc. These are REALLY bad photos but obviously the moment is priceless to me.
To fix these photos, I changed them to black and white, lightened them in Adobe Photoshop Elements using the Auto Fix. I reduced the size of the blurriest photo minimize the blur. The trick scrapping photos of subjects that aren't looking at you is to scrapbook about the spontaneous moment and what it means to you. Use your words to add special meaning to your page.
The result? Photos that make for a great page!

I challenge you to find a blurry photo or a photo that is too dark or maybe a photo where several subjects aren't looking at the camera. I want you to use one (or more!) of the tricks I mentioned to fix the photo and use it on a scrapbook page. Bonus points for find a photo with ALL of these problems and using it!******* To share your Lemons challenge creations, visit this MM Books forum thread. For more great ideas for salvaging sour photos, pick up a copy of When Life Gives You Lemons. And visit Sherry’s Lemons blog to challenge yourself to use sour photos on your layouts. New challenges are posted every week! Have a “sweet” day! ~Kristin layout inspiration | Memory Makers Books
