Simple and Inexpensive Home Decor Project
12/20/2007 11:39:47 AM (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-05:00)
Styrofoam-art.jpgI have a simple and easy home décor idea that I’d like to share with you. If you’re looking for last minute Christmas gifts or even a fun family project, this might be the perfect solution for you. Dow Chemical Company has introduced STYROFOAM brand foam in 12x12 inch squares. Grab a few of your scrapping supplies and you can complete this inexpensive project in a few minutes. I used ultra-thin, super-strength Glue Dots and Towbow dry adhesive to adhere the scrapbooking paper to the Styrofoam square. I suggest using some form of dry or spray adhesive because liquid adhesive created wrinkles in the paper. I poked holes in the paper using a piercing tool and then pushed in the brads for a finishing touch. To cover up the edges, I used a black ribbon and adhered it with more Glue Dots.

The entire project took me about 10 minutes, and the possibilities are endless. I love finding inexpensive ways to spice up my home décor that I can personalize to my own style. The STYROFOAM squares and can be found at Wal-Mart or your local craft store. For more great decorating ideas, click here. And if Holiday projects are what you’re after, check out the Masters blog for some great decorating tips. Hope you have an amazing Christmas!

Create something. Inspire everyone.
