I found this paper pinwheel template here (you can find the template under free patterns) and used it to make some Christmas ornaments. I also made larger pinwheels to use as Christmas bows.

Things to note:
I used craft glue instead of a glue gun and it worked fine.
I found it easier to use a craft knife  and ruler to make really clean folds
These could be used for any occasion (birthday gift bows or tags, weddings, etc...)
