Saving Time With Digital Overlays
3/17/2008 8:00:57 AM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00)

Lately, I've been appreciating the time-saving appeal of digital frames and overlays. Case in point: Yesterday, I wanted to create a layout about the new cereal I can't stop eating (I've purchased three boxes in the last few weeks.) This page took about 15 minutes to put together.

First, I snapped the photo (and ate the cereal, of course.) Then, I placed the image on the page. To add embellishment, I used a digital overlay from the Glitz Design collection I blogged about Friday.

The black overlay perfectly framed the page, adding flourishes in two of the corners, graph-paper-like lines and dots that look like ink splotches.

I changed the color of the frame to red by going to IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>
HUE/SATURATION. To finish, I added the title, the journaling accent and the journaling.

Do you find that scrapping digitally sometimes can help save time? What time-saving tricks do you take advantage of?

And what are your latest food obessions? Scrap them! I think it will be fun to look back a few years from now and see the quirky little things that were part of my everyday.

Happy Monday!

Katie

great digi page Katie - I am thinking I should give that cereal a try! I also love overlays and they have become a staple in my digi scrapping. When I download I typtically keep all designer products in one folder under their name, but when it comes to overlays - I copy the file into a specific overlay folder so it is available for a quick find. They are so much easier to use than transparencies in my traditional pages. ;-)
