My Wings Are Made Of...
8/27/2007 1:16:52 PM (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC-04:00)
I truly enjoyed participating in
Patty's challenge
.
The title (
My Wings Are Made of Words
) came to me quickly. Ever since I was a child, I've been enchanted by words, and because words are such a large part of my life, it made sense that my wings would be made of them. Without words—both reading and writing them—I would not be me.
JOURNALING READS:
Written by me or written by others, I'm always able to escape and soar on a delightful string of words. 8-26-07
TECHNIQUES USED:
I fell in love with the red bird paper from
My Mind's Eye
. (The paper I used is from the new
Bohemia
collection.)
To create texture, I painted on the brown cardstock with
Ranger's
new
Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint
. I used "Weathered Wood" because the soft, grayish-blue color matched the blue in the patterned paper. I then glued my title on top of the distressed paint.
The journaling was handwritten on a piece of cream notebook paper that was torn directly out of my art journal. I like the way the handwritten writing contrasts with the antique-looking stamped letters.
It's been wonderful to see how others have responded to this challenge. If you haven't shared your page yet, please do so
here
. Or, if you're unable to participate in the challenge, but would still like to share what your wings are made of, please leave me a comment.
All the best,
Katie

LOVE the journaling! I may have to steal it for a page about myself...
