Crazy Quilting
One of Ashley's favorite techniques is crazy quilting. It requires no exact measurements or precise cuts. Some felt backing, short pieces of ribbon and a few simple embroidery stitches are all that you need to complete crazy quilt pieces such as these simple hearts perfect for a Valentine's Day layout.
Step 1. Use a glue stick to randomly apply short lengths of ribbon to the felt heart, leaving no spaces between the ribbons. Make sure to cut ribbon lengths long enough to hang over the edge of the heart.

Step 2. Use embroidery floss to apply a variety of decorative stitches to fill in the seams between adjacent ribbons.

Step 3. Fold the raw ribbon edges to the back side of the felt. Sew a blanket stitch around the edges of the heart to finish the quilt..
