No time to scrap
When you are a shift worker there are certain times that you just can't scrap ... (I have been contemplating getting a new job just to stop this from happening!!).. So for the last week, while I have been doing 12 hour night shifts, I have had to find something easy and small and that doesn't require my full attention but still lets me get that creative energy out. And this is one of the results.

Cards are a great way to not only use up scraps but they are also the perfect way to practice new techniques or use products that you don't play with very often (I don't use a lot of ribbon...but I think I should 'cause this yellow one from Autumn Leaves/MOD is too cute!!)
Anyway, I think I may use it for friends having babies (there is something in the water around here at the moment).
Cheers,
Amelia
supplies: adhesive (Pioneer), patterned papers (Chatterbox, Heidi Grace, MOD, Scenic Route), ribbon (MOD), Misc: embroidery thread.

Family Style...
Every family has little "things" that they do...traditions that make them "family". Sometimes, we don't even recognize them anymore b/c they're the norm for us. One of our unusual family traditions is inspired by Will Ferrell in Talledega Nights! LOL I know, I know...sounds horridly odd, but its funny! And its hilarious to see a 2yo not waving goodbye or high-fivin', but instead saying "shake and bake" in that little girl raspy voice she has while knuckling ya! LOL Its one of our family "things" so I wanted to document it. Figure out your family thing and post it...maybe even make a page with it! :)

Supplies: Adhesive (Adhesive Technologies, Provocraft), Buttons (Autumn Leaves), Label tape (DYMO), Patterned paper (Love Elsie, The Paper Studio), Pens (Sharpie, Uniball), Ribbon (Heidi Swapp), Stickers (7gypsies, American Crafts, Autumn Leaves)
Have a smilie filled day! ...Staci

Recycling Containers
I love the way scrapbook items are packaged and I always try to turn them into storage solutions. here is a clear bucket which used to hold chipboard cirlces. I just added some October Afternoon papers and burlap, placed a cute owl in the middle, wrapped the handle with lace and.... this will now be my storage for assorted chipboard letters. Have a great day! Iris

I will be teaching at Lasting Memories in April and while working on one of my class projects I came to realize not only do Maya Road products make me extremely happy but so do Ranger products. Ranger's Distress Crackle Paint is just so dang cool. I am like a little kid watching and waiting for it to start to crackle. Not sure what is so exciting about watching paint crack but it is. And you all know how I LOVE any and all things that glitter. Well Stickles has been a serious addiction of mine for years. I have every single color they make and go through Star Dust and Diamond almost as fast as they can make it. These two colors as well as Crystal and Icicle are great to accent paper designs on layouts and projects if you want just a little something extra in a few spots. I think Stickles is to the crafting world like Botox is to Plastic surgeons... you can always use a little here and there. Hope you all have a great day. Frisco is expecting snow today... two snow days in three days... gotta love living in Texas. One minute it is 70 degrees the next it is snowing. ~Lisa

what's on your playlist?
can you believe it's march already?
last year, i discovered that i really loved doing "playlist" sort of layouts, in which i recorded the songs i was obsessed with at a given point in time. so when this year started, i decided to do a digital layout each month, and at the end of the year, put these pages in a mini-album.
here is my playlist layout for february:

(all digital elements are from designer digitals).
i also love discovering new favorites....what have you been listening to lately?

Scrapbook Art...
Here is a fun piece you can either hang on the wall or place on an easle. All you need are Patterned Papers, Chipboard Blossoms, a Chipboard ATC, Rhinestones, Buttons, Ribbon, Alphabet Stamps, Ink and a Canvas. I found the quote, "I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck" at www.quotegarden.com. If you love quotes this site is full of them. I visit quite often. Here are some quick step-by-step instructions if you want to recreate this piece. - Cut patterned paper to size need to cover canvas, sew around edges and where papers meet
- Adhere patterned paper to canvas, ink edges
- Cut stems and leaves from patterned papers (I drew mine on the back of the paper and then cut them out), ink edges
- Cover Chipboard Blossoms with patterned papers, sand edges, place button in center of each flower
- Cover ATC with patterned paper, sand edges, tie twill around ATC and double knot, adhere rhinestones
- Stamp quote onto lower portion of canvas (making sure to leave room for your ATC (vase)
- Adhere stems, leaves and flowers
- Adhere ATC (vase)
Supplies Used: Patterned Paper: Daisy D's, Chipboard Blossoms, ATC and Twill: Maya Road, Buttons: Autumn Leaves, Stamps: River City, Ink: ClearSnap, Rhinestones: Darice Have a great day, Lisa

Sometimes little things....
mean a lot! I made one of these little boxes for each of my daughters. The inside has a secret sentiment from me to them. Wishing you a beautiful day, Lisa

Breathe...
Been so busy since getting back from CHA that I've hardly had time to breathe it seems! But its the best kind of busy--scrappy busy! :) So many cool products that I can't wait to play with, so many inspiring projects all around...just had.to.scrap. :)
Gotta send out a public WOO HOO to my hubby. While I was gone, he followed my routine to a T and cleaned the house top to bottom, side to side and all around! I'm a lucky, lucky girl! I didn't ask him how much it cost him in quarters to the kids (luckily they're pretty cheap labor LOL). Now, just to continue keeping it all up on my usual schedule and we'll be golden!
One thing he did do that's relatively unheard of around here...

Mmmmm...doesn't get better than an empty laundry room, clean house and some yummy scrappy goodies to play with! LOL :)
Supplies: Adhesive (Adhesive Technologies), Cardstock (Bazzill), Chipboard alpha (Scenic Route), Index Card (Office Depot), Patterned paper (K&Company, Making Memories), Pin (American Crafts), Sticker (Love Elsie)
Have a smilie filled day! :) ...Staci

I love it when...
projects come together so nicely. This is a mini album I created about my great grandparents. I love all the photos we have of them... which thankfully span many years. Grammy and Granpa Rand lived in Maine and New Hamphsire and traveled to Florida quite a bit. I have some great photos of them in swim suits that I cannot wait to scrap. Kinda wish they made them like that for women now... I just might have the nerve to get into one then. :) I am just so happy with how this album turned out. I think the patterned papers, vintage seam binding, glittered scrolls and velvet flowers compliment each other so nicely.
