crafty starbucks inspiration

i was at starbucks this afternoon, ordering my first gingerbread latte of the season....when my friend, judy, noticed these cute paper trees on display (i wish i had a camera with me, but i didn't bring it with me!). my first thought was "oh, i can make that with my scrapbooking supplies!" and i was immediately inspired, so we ran off to jo-ann to purchase a styrofoam cone, some pins and squins, and then we went to target to buy a star top. we got to work, and came up with these:

they were really easy to make - cut up a bunch of 1"x2" paper strips (we both used paper from heidi grace and cloud 9), rip the edge, pin them up around the styrofoam cone, and pin sequins as "ornaments". then add the star - ours were a steal from target (in the dollar spot) for $2.50!

what a fun holiday project! :)
