We are still doing some Go-Green projects over at Prima so I decided to make a mother's day project using one of the packaging tin cans of Prima. This was so easy and quick to make. Just sharing a simple idea for a project which you can make for your mom or for yourself.

I believe that good pictures does not necessarily mean that the subject should be posed, or have eye contact, or even face the camera. Sometimes, taking the picture from the subject's point of view help tell the story much better. In this layout, my 3 year old spotted the animal ride and immediately headed towards it. Instead of trying to run to the front to get a picture of her face, I just let her head on towards the ride and took the pictures from behind. No great photography tricks here but I sure am happy with the results.

24 hours of scrapping at my lss...that's how I spent my NSD:)  12pm-12pm...yawn;)  In that time I completed one mini-album (seen below), a layout, taught a class, had LOTS of laughs and yawns, sarcasm a-plenty:), snuggled up with a fellow scrapper on an air mattress in the middle of the shop for a few hours of sleep to then wake up and start all over again:)  Lots of fun!

The Peek-a-boo album by Tinkering Ink.  A fun easy project:)  4 chipboard pages with tabs and windows and 3 acrylic pages.  I used Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels to treat the chipboard.  Just a little spritz will do ya.  It colorizes the chipboard and gives it a hint of glimmer:)  Super easy:)

Front and back of page 1:  I sprayed a bit of Glimmer Mist on the acrylic page and left to dry.  I used this paper:  For the birds  Note how the birds are mirror images.  PERFECT for an acrylic page...thank you ms. or mr. Tinkering Ink designer;)

It's really fun to work with stamps. They are versatile and it can be used over and over to achieve different effects. In this layout, I used the Prima-Build-A-Frame stamps to create a star. I added rub-ons and stiching marks to the lines to create a funkier star.

I've been seeing it everywhere. A little pop of spring/summer fun! I'm all about mixing patterns and bright colors, so this is right up my alley! :) Check out these pics...

These are from Target, The Company Store, and JCrew. Soooo super cute! I've managed to get Lilli into some cutie madras shorts, I'm working on getting Bob into some long bermuda ones (sedate brown so as not to scare the poor man), and have my eye on a little beverage bucket I saw this weekend. Might have to throw a party to justify that purchase! ;)

Naturally, anything that I see in out in the "real world" gets translated to my scrappin' addiction. And the search for madras plaid paper began. And ended...rather abruptly unfortunately. I have plaid papers, but no madras...not even plaid in the vibrant hues that are calling my name "Staciiiiiii, use meeeeee!" ;)

So what's a scrap-desperate girl to do? Well, since I wasn't making a late night fabric run (don't laugh...I've done it!), this chick took out those cutie shorts of her daughters! I took a macro pic of them, photoshopped it up a bit for extra oomph, and printed it onto matte photo paper. Yep, I made my own madras plaid paper from Lilli's shorts! LOL :) And you know what? My Madras-Mad Self was quite happy with the result! :)

Earth Day. Its been a whole week of festivities at Lilli's school. Trying to bring focus to our world in fun, creative ways for the kids.

One of the projects is a Family Recycled Art Project. We had to create art completely from items that can be recycled. Lilli and I brainstormed and I remembered a super-cute mirror frame I'd seen at Urban Outfitters. That one was made with teeny rolled bits of papers. I thought folding would be easier for almost-7yo fingers so we went with a folded magazine bits wreath.

We got to work. Lilli did so great...really doing her best to get everything lined up when she folded all the paper bits, so careful. She was working solid with me through the first magazine. By the time we hit the second one, she was done. Poor baby fingers worked to the bone. LOL :) So Mom is the one staying up tonight to finish it off.

Turned out pretty cute I think. In a random, handmade kinda way. ;)

Lovin' the little family art projects. Can't wait to do more this summer!

Oh, and I hung it on the door to surprise Lilli in the morning. She'll be excited b/c my little clone was worry-warting about it not being done in time for the 1st grade tour.

...is turning 7! I can't believe that this little one we prayed for so long to have and honestly gave up on ever having is turning 7 years old! This parenthood gig is a crazy roller coaster! And of course, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! :)

If you know anything about little girls, then you know they are all about parties. Especially birthday parties. Lilli has been planning her party for ages--where to have it, what kind of cake, who gets invited, and on and on for infinity! :) But I think we have it set now for the most part!

Being a crafty girl, you know I wanted to make the party invites! ;) But making 20+ invites for the kiddos in her class didn't sound like a very logical use of my time b/c I know that they'll be smushed into backpacks and be lucky to make it home. LOL :) But the call to the creative side could only be tempered slightly by practicality. Translate that to: I went digi! :) :)

I know! I was shocked too! I love goofing off in Photoshop but rarely do a full-out digi thing. But I did this week! Wanna see? ;)

Gotta say...it was soooo much fun!! :) :) :) So, while I'm feeling digi-lovey-dovey, anybody have any must-see, must-have digi kits? I'll send ya an air-smooch for a link! ;)

I got to teach 5 classes this past weekend in Danbury, CT. I had a blast and had such a great time teaching new techniques to everyone. If there is one thing I love that would be techniques. Here are a few photos of the album covers that I taught. You will find all kinds of fun things to learn and play with on them.

This class everyone got to learn how to make ribbon flowers, play with Ranger Distress Crackle Paint and Inks, learn the many ways of using Stickles, learn to layer, layer, layer and layer patterned paper (because I love patterned paper) and accenting felt with a backstitch. It was so much fun and everyone did such a great job. They decided my motto was "No Stress". I took a training seminar once and it was so stressful I couldn't even cut my paper right, find the embellishments etc. I swore right then and there that I would never have a class like this and so far have kept to my word.

This class was playing with glitter and distress your paper edges and inking. I am always amazed as to how many are afraid of glitter. Do not fear glitter. Glitter is your friend and is a wonderful accent.


This one was all about painting, covering chipboard, using a craft knife, stickles and again distressing. It was so cool seeing everyone walk out of each class holding their albums that happened to look just like mine.

So if you have these products listed and have not tried them yet break them open and start playing. You are missing out on a lot of fun. My post next week will be about using the Fiskars border punches. If you have these and have not yet used them well get ready for some fun and super easy ideas.

Nothing like some new goodies to make ya feel like scrappin'! I've got lots of goodies to play with, but these tags were calling to me. They're a little "prettier" than my usual vibe, but maybe that's what appealed to me. Even a non frou-frou girl can do a little floral sometimes, ya know! LOL :) Kinda out of the box for me. ;) Not to mention my new fave stamps evah!

So, the journaling...yes, I'm feeling sentimental. Van is growing up so fast, despite her screams to the contrary. She can hollar "I not a big girl...I a baby!" till the cows come home, but she can't stop time from passing. And to be honest, even the hissy fit is testament to the fact that she's almost 3yo! (Hey, this sounds like journaling for another layout! A layout inspired by me chattering about a layout...might be a first! ;) LOL) Anyways, this layout is just me hoping that she'll discover herself a bit and not just take bits & pieces of the other kids experiences/personalities.
