Accenting with Embroidery Floss
Here is a technique I love to do with my patterned papers... accenting printed designs. In this layout I accented the swirls by hand stitching a back stitch on top of them. This is really easy and the supplies needed are minimal... paper piercer, sewing needle and embroidery floss. First, I like to poke holes along the pattern with a paper piercer. This makes stitching much quicker and easier. Then I thread three strands of embroidery floss into my needle and stitch away. This added touch gives your layouts a little something extra without putting in loads of time consuming work. I really like the added deminsion stitching gives as well as the added texture. Supplies Used: Dream Street Art Nouveau paper line, Maya Road Chipboard and Velvet Blossoms, Ranger Paint, Distress Ink and Stickles
